What is Proof of Work 2.0

In Bitcoin, GPUs waste energy on meaningless hashing — billions of calculations that no one needs. In Gonka, it's different: every calculation is a real AI request from a real user. This is Proof of Work 2.0.

How regular Proof of Work operates

On the Bitcoin network, thousands of ASIC miners compete to find a random number (hash) first. The found hash confirms the block but is useless by itself. It is estimated that Bitcoin consumes more electricity than entire countries – and all this energy goes to a “digital lottery.”

Proof of Work 2.0: Useful Work

In Gonka, GPUs process real requests to neural networks. When a user sends a question via the Gonka API, it is processed by one of the nodes—and this very calculation confirms the block. Current model: Kimi K2.6. The Sprint consensus distributes tasks between nodes in real-time. 100% of the computing power goes into useful work.

Why it matters
